It’s time once again for racers and race fans to help construct a new national cable TV network. I had been waiting patiently for MavTV to arrive in my cable box, but when our good friend Dave Despain started airing his new show on MavTV, it was definitely time to take action. I called Time Warner Cable on their customer service number and had a conversation with Priscilla, in Texas, who was very helpful and a race fan. We talked about the new Austin track (Circuit of Americas), and we both agreed we’ve got to catch the F1 race there one day. “That would be awesome!” said Priscilla.

First of all, thanks very much to our friends at PRI for offering this opportunity to talk a bit about the open wheel events set for the end of November out here on the lower part of the left coast.

We’re very excited to be the Los Angeles stop in a trio of action-packed winged sprint car events set for an ultra-fast, three-day weekend November 21 through 23, when the King of the Wing series invades California.

You’re right if you guessed that this event will be yet another “first” for Irwindale Speedway. If it has wheels and races, most likely it’s traversed “LA’s Half-Mile Superspeedway” at one time or another since we opened in March of 1999.

PRI announced two weeks ago that to make more booth space available for race parts manufacturers in the main Exhibit Halls, trailer companies will not have space available inside the Indiana Convention Center for the display of trailers.

To follow up, I thought I'd make a note on this blog on our thought process: We wanted to give more core exhibitors--racing and performance parts manufacturers--the opportunity for space inside the main Exhibit Halls, allowing many to move from spots in exhibit room and corridor locations last year. The goal is to retain these companies as exhibitors, and continue to provide the widest array possible of displays of hardcore racing products for attending buyers. We are also implementing new...
