Arizona Introduces Proposal Urging Congress To Pass The RPM Act

Arizona’s legislature has introduced a PRI and SAN-supported memorial (H.C.M. 2001) urging the U.S. Congress to pass the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports (RPM) Act (H.R. 3281 and S. 2736). A memorial is a document presented to a legislative body and contains a petition or a representation of facts.
In short, Arizona lawmakers are urging Congress to pass the RPM Act, which guarantees the right to modify street cars, trucks, and motorcycles into dedicated race vehicles and safeguard the industry’s right to offer parts that enable racers to compete.
“A broad spectrum of individuals are involved in converting and racing street vehicles, ranging from novice hobbyists to professionals,” the memorial stated. “Vehicle modification and racing, and the community and industry that surround them, play an important cultural and economic role across the country and in this state.”
Lawmakers must continue to be reminded of the importance of passing the RPM Act into law this year. PRI encourages the industry to voice support from lawmakers on this pro-hobby proposal.
