Longtime USAC board member and USAC Benevolent Foundation President Henry C. Ryder of Indianapolis was honored March 6 upon his retirement from the foundation. A special commemorative plaque was presented to Ryder following the group’s annual board meeting.

Former USAC President Rollie Helmling assumed Presidency of the Foundation while former USAC, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and IndyCar Medical Director Henry Bock cited health concerns as justification for his resignation from the board.

Longtime photographer Dr. Harlen Hunter of Bedford, Indiana, was also elected to a position as a member of the foundation board. An additional board member is expected to be added later in 2013.

Executive Director/Secretary William Marvel, entering his 30th year with the Benevolent Foundation, also announced that Ron Green was named Vice President, and Josh Laycock was added to the Executive Committee. Ray Linton returns to his position as Treasurer.

The USAC Benevolent Foundation’s “Fun at Fastimes” annual go-kart endure is scheduled for this Saturday in Indianapolis.
