San Tan Ford’s Arizona Speedway and ET Motopark, the dirt race track and off-road facility based in San Tan Valley, Arizona, will cease operations this April, according to an announcement by Owners Jonah Trussell and Steve Coleman. 

“The Arizona State Land Department has decided that the facility and noise it produces does not fit into their neighboring development plan,” Trussell wrote. “As per [the] agreement, we will continue with events for the next few weeks.”

Due to the announcement, the Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts has announced that the 16th edition of the mini-series will be moved from Arizona Speedway to New Mexico’s Vado Speedway Park beginning in 2022. The series dates are set for January 8-9, January 12, and January 14-16.

The track, which opened in 2011, hosts a variety of classes, including IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Stock Cars, Bombers, and more. ET Motopark has been in operation for 20 years, and hosts off-road, mud bogs, sand drags, motocross, demolition derby, and more. 

“Thank you to everyone for years of support from myself and my family. We will likely see you somewhere again in the future,” Trussell stated. 

Arizona Speedway will host a mud bogs and sand drags finale on March 27, followed by the “Last Dance” race featuring sprint cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Stock Cars, and Bombers on April 3.
