Anderson Speedway––the historic high-banked quarter-mile oval track in Anderson, Indiana––has announced the appointment of Joe Balash as vice president of operations.
With the announcement, the former vice president of operations, Jared Owen, has been elevated to president of Anderson Speedway.
In his new role, Balash will primarily oversee all race-related operational aspects of Anderson Speedway, working to enhance the race day experience for fans and drivers, strengthen partnerships and continue the track's long-standing campaigning of grassroots motorsports.
A highly respected leader in the motorsports industry, Balash brings decades of experience at the highest levels of racing, including key leadership roles within NASCAR's Busch Series (now the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series) and, most recently, the NASCAR Euro Series.
"I'm honored to be part of such a historic facility," Balash said. "Anderson Speedway has a rich legacy in short track racing, and I look forward to working with the team to build on that foundation while delivering an exceptional experience for competitors and fans alike."
Owen, meanwhile, has been with Anderson Speedway across several roles, beginning as the track promotions intern in 2015 before being promoted to the executive assistant to the president in 2016, followed by his promotion to VP of operations in 2017.
