Lizzy Musi, the renowned drag racer and daughter of drag racer and engine builder Pat Musi, has passed away from breast cancer. She was 33.
Musi's 3.802-second run at 200.02 mph made her the first woman to break the 200-mph barrier in eighth-mile door slammer racing. That same year in 2014, Musi became the first woman to win a Pro Nitrous national event at the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) US Drags at Virginia Motorsports Park, a racing season where Musi took a third-place finish in the championship points standings and PDRA Rookie of the Year honors.
In 2019, Musi joined the "Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings" TV program and scored three consecutive victories in her "Aftershock" Camaro powered by a Musi 959. She became not only the first female driver to win a No Prep Kings event, but also the first driver to achieve three consecutive wins.
PRI extends its condolences to the Musi family.
