The long-awaited opening of Black Canyon Speedway at the Gem County Fairgrounds took place last weekend after a test and tune practice on Friday, June 23. The first races on the clay surfaced track took place the following day, where a number of local racers in Outlaw Karts and Micro Sprints took advantage of the opportunity to break in the venue.

Next on the schedule for 1/7-mile track Jerry’s Auto Parts Outlaw Karts and Micro Sprints event on July 7. Children 12 and under are free, with adult tickets set at $10. Military and senior discounts are available.
