A number of milestone events related to this season’s ARCA Racing series are unfolding in 2012.

This season is the 60th anniversary of the ARCA Racing Series. Founded by John Marcum initially as MARC (Midwest Association for Race Cars) the name was changed to ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America) to allow for territory expansion, on the advice of Bill France, NASCAR's founder.

This is also the eighth season where the Mallory CT Pro ignition trays have been included in the race cars of the ARCA series. On Saturday, August 4, as ARCA invades Pocono Raceway, Mallory will reach one million miles of ARCA competition using its CT Pro ignition system.

The milestone will unfold on SPEED-TV at 3 p.m. ET Saturday during the ARCA Pennsylvania 125.

In related news, Venturini Motorsports marks its 30th season of championship ARCA stock car racing this year. Venturini driver Brennan Poole is currently in second place in this season’s point standings.
