The Motorsports Hall of Fame of America (MSHFA) has honored racing journalist Robin Miller during a special ceremony at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS).

Miller, one of the inductees in the MSHFA Class of 2021, was recognized ahead of the formal Hall of Fame ceremony in Pontiac, Michigan, set for September 27–29. Ongoing health problems will prevent his attendance at the event.

Hundreds of racing industry members gathered at IMS to celebrate Miller, who started his journalism career at the Indianapolis Star in 1968. Around the same time, he also worked with Jim Hurtubise and other race teams during Indianapolis 500 races.

He later worked for ESPN for RPM 2Night, the former nightly news program devoted to motorsports. This was followed by a stint at SPEED, where he worked on WIND TUNNEL and SPEED REPORT, before joining RACER as a regular columnist, including writing the popular Robin Miller’s Mailbag presented by Honda Racing/HPD. Miller also worked for NBCSN on IndyCar telecasts.

Miller will be formally inducted alongside eight other racing legends, including one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers, Davey Allison (Stock Cars), three-time land speed record holder John Cobb (Historic), three-time NHRA Top Fuel champion Larry Dixon Jr. (Drag Racing), Indy and NASCAR trailblazer Janet Guthrie (Open Wheel), 2006 MotoGP World Champion Nicky “Kentucky Kid” Hayden (Motorcycles), seven consecutive APBA Gold Cup winner Fran Muncey (Powerboats), multi-time USAC and NASCAR champion Ray Nichels (Historic), and world-class timer/scorer Judy Stropus (Sports Cars).
