McLaren Signs F1 Academy's Bianca Bustamante as First Women in its Driver Development Program
Bianca Bustamante has joined the McLaren Driver Development program, becoming the first female driver to enroll. Bustamante will also represent McLaren by running the team's livery on her F1 Academy race car for the 2024 season.
At 18 years old from the Philippines, Bustamante is a promising female talent in motorsports who has been involved in racing since the age of five, winning multiple karting championships across Asia. Her involvement in the McLaren Driver Development program, led by Emanuele Pirro, will see her join the team's talent pipeline, which aims to help drivers progress toward Formula 1, IndyCar and Formula E.
In addition, McLaren has announced Cisco as the official primary partner of the McLaren Driver Development program. As part of the multi-year partnership, Cisco branding will be represented on Bustamante's race car, overalls and team kit.
