Richmond International Raceway (RIR) President Dennis Bickmeier and Vice President of Marketing and Communications Michael Waddell have named James Hall, Jr. as the Director of Ticket Sales and Guest Services.
Hall comes to RIR from Canton, Ohio, where he served as the Director of Ticket Sales and Service for the Canton Charge, the Cleveland Cavaliers' NBA D-League affiliate. In his role, Hall oversaw all functions related to season tickets including partial plans, group tickets, premium areas, and programs.
“We welcome James and his family to the Commonwealth,” said RIR President Dennis Bickmeier. “James has great experience in developing sales teams that drive results and provide outstanding customer service. Our goal is to live up to the legacy of Bill France, Sr. who believed that everyone in the building sells tickets.”
In the past season, Hall led the Charge’s growth in ticket sales by 17% and group sales by 15% for the best season in franchise history. During his tenure as Group Sales Manager, Hall led the team in group sales annually setting a new franchise record for an individual seller. He began his tenure with the Canton Charge as the Group Event Specialist and Youth Basketball Coordinator.
“Success has been James’ partner at every stop,” said Vice President Mike Waddell. “He grew up a fan of NASCAR and knows the passion of our fans. As we enhance our sales and service culture, he will be a leader and great teammate.”
Hall began his career in professional sports as the Inside Sales Representative for the Charlotte Knights, a minor league baseball team affiliated with the Chicago White Sox in Charlotte, N.C. In his role, he sold ticket packages, including season tickets, partial plans, and group tickets.
A native of Concord, N.C., Hall received his MBA with a marketing concentration and a bachelor of science in sports management from Wingate University in Wingate, N.C.
