PRI 2018 TO HOST 30TH ANNUAL ICMS CONGRESS
The International Council of Motorsport Sciences (ICMS) is set to present its 30th Annual Congress at this year’s Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Scheduled for December 5–7, 2018, at the Indiana Convention Center, the conference serves to inform the international motorsports community, different scientific and medical disciplines, sanctioning body personnel, automobile designers and constructors, race team managers and drivers, and industry corporations interested in improving safety and performance for the motorsports participant and highway motorist.
As in previous years, the Congress curriculum will be delivered in educational modules, including medicine and physiology, applied science, logistics and administration, and motorsports safety, and will be presented by some of the foremost practitioners from around the world.
Among the themes to be discussed this year are liability coverage for medical and safety personnel at motorsports facilities; circuit design; advances in cockpit systems for driver protection; 3D printing and other new technological advances; and more.
“The information is very unique, very specialized, and something I can’t get at another conference,” said Richard Lynton, an ER doctor from Folsom, California. “Quite frankly, there is no other conference like it. I’m always happy to attend. I always get brought up to date or learn new information.”
ICMS members have been instrumental in the creation of many of the life-saving procedures and products used in all forms of motorsports today. Whether you’re looking for the latest information in the field or exploring opportunities to learn from experts, the curriculum of the ICMS Annual Congress offers continuing education opportunities that are unsurpassed in motorsports.
The ICMS Annual Congress is among dozens of seminars that are scheduled for this year’s PRI Show, taking place December 6–8 at the Indiana Convention Center. The Show will feature over 1100 companies exhibiting in more than 3300 booths, showcasing the latest developments in auto racing technology to tens of thousands of buyers from all 50 states and 70 countries.
The Congress will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. For more information or to register, visit icmsmotorsportsafety.org. And to register for the PRI Show, visit pri2018.com.
