Newly Appointed: Rollie Miller III

As FM3 Performance Marketing expands beyond producing racing events and enthusiast shows to also becoming a sanctioning body, its new senior event manager brings the varied experience to help make that happen.
While the racing community was shocked when ProMedia ended its NMRA and NMCA drag racing operations last fall, many will still see Rollie Miller III at events across the country this year. Miller, ProMedia's former general manager and national event director, recently joined FM3 Performance Marketing as its new senior event manager.
FM3 packages, manages, and promotes some of the biggest enthusiast events in the country, including the Hot Rod Power Tour, Holley LS Fest, Optima Battery Search for the Ultimate Street Car, Dodge Roadkill Nights, and more. All share the common thread of drawing highly passionate performance and racing enthusiasts and giving them memorable experiences.
Miller should be an ideal fit, as he brings three decades of experience in drag racing and management to the role. During his tenure with NMRA and NMCA, Miller established processes that helped ensure excellent customer experiences and thrilling yet safety-conscious heads-up drag racing. The latter is no surprise, as Miller spent 25 years with the NHRA Safety Safari, 17 in a part-time role and more than eight in a full-time position.
Miller's heart has been in racing since he was a teenager, but his career did not start there. While attending the University of Texas at Austin, he earned a reputation for wrecking houses, though not in the "Animal House" kind of way. He explains below from his conversation with PRI in which he shared his outlook on FM3's plans.
PRI: You started your career far from a race track. Were you always a racing fan?
Miller: I grew up on the west side of Houston and was a NASCAR fan in the late 1970s and 1980s. My drag racing passion started with street racing at the age of 15 for several years and then moved to racing at the track, specifically Houston Raceway Park when it opened in 1988...
