Casey Shuman Takes Over World Of Outlaws Late Model Series

As the 2019 season is set to kick off in just one month, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series has announced racer, owner and promoter Casey Shuman as the new series director.
Raised in Rattlesnake Bend, Arizona, and now residing in Indianapolis, Indiana, Shuman raced non-winged sprints and midgets for more than 20 years before stepping into the role of owner and promoter of the POWRi Wingless Auto Racing (WAR) Series in 2016. Staying true to his competitor roots, Shuman has successfully revitalized the POWRi WAR Sprint Car Series into one of the fastest growing series in the Midwest.
“It’s a true honor to become part of the World of Outlaws family. I grew up with my dad [Hall of Famer and sprint car driver Ron Shuman] on the World of Outlaws Sprint Car tour, and it’s exciting to now be in the midst of planning a season with the World of Outlaws Late Models,” Shuman said. “My career has been heavily open-wheel based, but I am looking forward to the challenge of working with the competitors, owners and promoters in the Late Model world. I am confident with the backing of the World of Outlaws team we can do some really great things.”
Shuman, who will remain involved with the POWRi WAR sprints in an advisory capacity, takes over the reins from Matt Curl, who has become owner of Fairbury American Legion Speedway, the 1/4-mile semi-banked dirt oval home of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series Prairie Dirt Classic.
The 2019 World of Outlaws Late Model Series season kicks off on February 8, at Screven Motorsports Complex in Sylvania, Georgia, before invading Florida and the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park on February 13. Visit worldofoutlaws.com for more information.
