Iowa Passes Bill to Protect Longstanding Race Tracks from Lawsuits

In a bid to ensure the longevity of Iowa's motorsports venues, the Iowa legislature unanimously passed a PRI- and SEMA-supported bill (HF 645) that provides immunity to race tracks from nuisance claims brought by surrounding property owners, so long as the track existed before the neighboring property was purchased or developed. This ensures these venues can continue to thrive without the constant threat of litigation.
The bill now awaits Governor Kim Reynolds's approval or veto. Click here to send Governor Reynolds a letter supporting this important bill.
Iowa's race tracks are more than just entertainment venues; they are economic engines that support local businesses, create jobs and generate substantial revenue for the state. This immunity is essential for the ongoing operation and advancement of these venues.
