Free Webinar for PRI Members: Extended Producer Responsibility Laws
PRI Business Members on July 8 are invited to participate in an upcoming free webinar sponsored by the Small Business Legislative Council focused on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws and what small businesses need to know to prepare for compliance.
- Register here for Extended Producer Responsibility Laws: What Small Businesses Need to Know, which will take place on Wednesday, July 8, at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
The one-hour webinar will provide a comprehensive briefing on the rapidly evolving landscape of EPR laws, which shift the financial and operational responsibility for end-of-life packaging management from municipalities and taxpayers to the producers that use packaging.
The presentation will cover how EPR compliance works, including the role of Producer Responsibility Organizations, also known as PROs, and provide a state-by-state overview of enacted laws, covered materials, key compliance deadlines and litigation updates. Speakers will also discuss who qualifies as a "producer" under these laws, including tiered liability hierarchies and small producer exemptions.
The webinar will feature expertise from James Collins and Matthew E. Morgan, both from law firm Barnes & Thornburg.
