PRI Hoosier 500 Releases 2025 Rulebook, Launches Competitor Portal

PRI Hoosier 500 officials have released the virtual race's 2025 rulebook and launched a new competitor portal for race participants. PRI is the title sponsor and official broadcast partner of the open-wheel simulation racing event, set for December 14, 2025. The PRI Hoosier 500 is a sim race contested at the virtual Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the iRacing platform, the world's premier motorsport racing simulation. By providing the most authentic "500" experience, it strives to be the crown jewel special event for open-wheel racers on the iRacing platform. More details from the original announcement are here, and the 2025 event schedule can be found here.
The initial version of the event's governing rules remains consistent with past editions of the rulebook, dating back to the inaugural Open-Wheels 500 in 2019.
Nearly all race and qualifications procedures remain unchanged from the rulebook. This includes instructions on how the field will align in 11 rows of three during the formation laps for race day, as well as the rules governing the two-day qualifications process.
Open-Wheels Motorsports Sanctioning will continue as the governing body of the race, overseeing all competition-related aspects of the event.
The PRI Hoosier 500 has rolled out a new competitor portal, which will serve as the home to the latest rulebook, entrant schedule and FAQs. The portal will also host all competitor bulletins, meeting recordings and official session reports once on-track activity begins in December.
Registration for the 2025 PRI Hoosier 500 opens on October 1, running through November 3. As with years past, there is no fee for a driver to submit an entry to the PRI Hoosier 500.
