San Antonio Speedway Returning To Action In 2013 Following 'Octoberfast' Success

San Antonio Speedway was reborn just a couple of months ago by hosting the 11th "not so annual" Octoberfast.
This half-mile, high-banked asphalt oval race track was closed down in 2007 due to code compliance issues, and was reopened by Unique Track Solutions LLC on October 18-20, 2012.
Over 120 racers competed in this record-breaking event that attracted almost 5000 fans and racing teams.
Brian Bohlen, the Operations Director at San Antonio Speedway, shared his excitement about the success of the reopening.
"We were really pleased with the response on our recent Octoberfast event," said Bohlen. "The future of the track hinged on the outcome of Octoberfast, and we're happy to say that we were overwhelmed by the support we received from the racers, sponsors, racing teams, fans and media. We know they all contributed to the success of this monumental event in in a big way."
Following the success of this historical "grand reopening" event, San Antonio Speedway has announced that it will be back again next year. Unique Track Solutions LLC is moving forward with its plans for 2013, and sponsorships for next year's events are being pursued.
"We're currently working on some specific dates for next year, and we hope to officially announce the schedule right after the first of the year," commented Bohlen. "Right now, we feel it's important to let the racing community know that we do plan to continue racing at San Antonio Speedway in 2013."
Bohlen also added, "San Antonio Speedway will be working with the asphalt speedway located in Kyle to coordinate schedules and rules in order to make racing at both facilities as easy and affordable as possible for racers."
