Garmin in Olathe, Kansas, has released its Catalyst R1 racing radar, which was purpose-built to provide high-performance drivers with more situational awareness in their vehicle for a competitive advantage on the racetrack. The radar system features heads-up indicator lights that are positioned within a driver's line of sight in the cockpit so that driver can keep their eyes on the track and maintain awareness of vehicles approaching from behind.

The Garmin Catalyst R1 radar is unobtrusive, rugged, and has an IP67 dust/water rating that can withstand rigorous racetrack conditions including weather, heat, and vibration. Along with the indicator lights and rear-facing sensor, the radar system includes all mounting hardware needed to secure on a race vehicle.

PennGrade 1, a Brad Penn product from D-A Lubricants in Lebanon, Indiana, has released its new Full Synthetic Motor Oil. This full synthetic formula is purpose-built for modern, higher-revving, and highly stressed engines.

This line of motor oils was designed to deliver race-proven film strength, superior high-temperature protection, and advanced anti-wear defense.

A fully synthetic formulation, PennGrade 1 | Brad Penn Full Synthetic provides oxidation resistance to prevent breakdown under extreme heat, ultra-stable film strength for high rpm and heavy loads, improved cleanliness that reduces sludge and deposits, low volatility, minimizing oil consumption, and wide temperature capability.

This motor oil is ideal for gasoline, alcohol, methanol, E-85, and race gas applications, performance enthusiasts and racers, turbocharged and supercharged engines, modern vehicles with direct injection and tight tolerances, and high-performance street and track applications.

While PennGrade 1 Synthetic Blend can be used in classic and vintage engines, this new full synthetic extends the line, engineered specifically for today's more demanding engine designs.

Available in multiple viscosity grades, including 0W-20, 5W-30, 5W-40, 5W-50, 15W-50, and 0W-40.

LS ALUMINUM RACE BLOCK

This new high-performance aluminum engine block from RHS in Olive Branch, Mississippi, was designed for GM LS applications. SKU 54903U-904 is available in both standard deck and tall deck height configurations. Features include a raised cam centerline and outboard priority main oiling to allow rod clearance for a 4.600-inch stroke and to minimize windage in the crankcase. For quality control assurance, RHS conducts a CT scan one each block for maximum casting precision and consistency.

Specifications include a standard deck height of 9.240 inches, 4.120-inch bore (needs final finish hone before assembly), a .904-inch lifter bore, and machined for 55-mm roller cam bearing or 60-mm babbit, which does not come with cam bearings.

Designed from heavy-duty A357-T6 aluminum material, the block is available with 4.125- to 4.165-inch Siamese cast bore walls with press-in spun cast iron liner, is "long arm friendly" as it accommodates up to 4.6-inch stroke with standard rod pin diameters (2.100-inch) and oversized 60-mm camshaft, extra-large windows in valley for access to inboard "6th" head bolt, extra-long liners for standard (5.87-inch) and tall (6.38-inch) decks, and much more.
