Gas City I-69 Speedway, the 1/4-mile clay oval in Gas City, Indiana, has announced Larry Boos as the new track promoter. He takes over for Jerry Gappens, who has accepted the position of general manager for Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.

“It’s not unusual for good people to be offered new opportunities, and although the timing was not ideal for us, we cannot thank Jerry enough for the tremendous job he has done at Gas City over the last four years,” said Jack Himelick, owner of Gas City I-69 Speedway. “We feel extremely lucky to have someone with Larry’s experience agree to take over.”

Boos is also the promoter of Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Indiana), Montpelier Motor Speedway (Montpelier, Indiana), and the Rumble in Fort Wayne event.

The Gas City I-69 Speedway season opens with a Test and Tune event on Wednesday, April 27, and with its season opener race on Friday, May 6.
