Hearing Postponed for Proposed Missouri Race Track
A hearing on a proposed race track in Warren County, Missouri, has been postponed to a public hearing on May 14, according to local reports.
The proposed 1/6-mile dirt track was before the Warren County Planning and Zoning Commission on April 30, which rejected the conditional use permit application for the race track. The proposal also calls for 754 parking spots and a 1,050-ft.-long entrance road, according to reports.
According to the Warren County Record, county commissioners voted to continue the matter to May 14 after hearing public comments and review the appeal. Supporters said the race track could provide recreational opportunities and attract visitors to the area, while opponents raised concerns about increased traffic, noise, and the impact the facility could have on nearby rural properties and residents.
