Calistoga (CA) To Induct Six Into Hall Of Fame

Officials from Calistoga Speedway in Roseville, California, have announced its eighth induction class for the Calistoga Speedway Hall of Fame.
The induction ceremony and dinner will take place on August 30 at the track.
Leading the list is Billy Albini, the famed West Coast crew chief who passed away earlier this year on March 12. Albini, who assisted driver Brent Kaeding, is the winningest crew chief of the NARC/King of the West Sprint Car Series. The Series also added a new perpetual award in his namesake, the Billy Albini Mechanic of the Year Award.
Also set to be inducted is driver Martin Faw, Ted Finkenbinder, Rich Govan, Wally Talbot and the Tiner family.
Faw, a driver, won the 1962 NARC Owner and Driver Championship with limited funds and by building his own equipment.
Finkenbinder, the driver and car owner that has supported the track for over 40 years, has fielded a “plethora” of sprint and midget cars.
Govan was a fixture during the track’s 1970s racing scene with the Northern Auto Racing Club and won the sprint car main event on June 14, 1975.
Talbot’s career spanned four decades, first competing at the track in 1958. The three-time Northern Auto Racing Club series champion’s last race at Calistoga took place 1984.
Finally, the Tiner family will also be inducted, including Rod Tiner Sr., the car owner with six wins under his belt. His brother, Randy “Boo” Tiner was one of the most popular sprint car drivers in the area and secured four career wins at the track.
