PRI 2021 Day 1 (Thursday)

Racing giant Roger Penske and Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) President Doug Boles joined emcee Ralph Sheheen for the Grand Opening Breakfast to help kick off the 2021 PRI Trade Show in Indianapolis. Thousands were treated to a unique program that fed directly into Opening Day of the world’s premier gathering of motorsports professionals under one roof. Aisles of booths quickly filled with buyers searching for the latest products, equipment, and services from the racing industry’s top suppliers and vendors, who did not disappoint. Well-trafficked areas included the Lucas Oil Stadium, which housed the popular Featured Products Showcase, the huge indoor trailer display, and the brand-new Goodyear Experience.

A full slate of world-class PRI Education sessions rounded out the day with topics covering the State of the Racing Industry, 3D Computer Flow Analysis, Building Your Brand, Hiring and Employee Retention, Performance Engine Bearings, Air Speed In ICE, RPM Act & Emissions Compliance, and Effective Websites.

The brand-new PRI Headquarters stage also featured special guests such as Wes Buck of Drag Illustrated, NHRA Pro Mod driver Lyle Barnett, NHRA Top Fuel driver Clay Millican, Ryan Martin of Street Outlaws No Prep Kings, and NHRA Top Fuel drivers Antron Brown and Justin Ashley. Exhibitors also broke important company news with press conferences, including Brembo’s new Late Model brake package and VP Racing Fuels’ renewable race fuels.

The PRI Happy Hour event in Lucas Oil Stadium wrapped up the day with appetizers, beverages, and live music. The event also included, for the first-time, the unveiling of the 2022 Indy 500 ticket design. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosted a presentation to reveal the ticket, which honors four-time Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves. Castroneves was on-hand during the presentation along with PRI President Dr. Jamie Meyer, IMS President Doug Boles, and IMS Creative Director Mandy Walsh.
