Randy’s Transmissions Expands Coast to Coast; Adds Frank Kuperman Jr. as Part Owner

Randy’s Transmissions was founded in 2008 by Randy Reyes in Grantsville, Utah. The

company began in a small shed behind Randy’s home, eventually expanding into a 900 sq. ft.,

two-bay shop as demand increased. From the start, the focus was on solving the real durability

issues found in diesel pickup transmissions being pushed harder.

By the early 2010s, Randy’s had gained recognition throughout the Intermountain West for

performance transmission builds that worked not only on the drag strip, but in daily hauling,

towing, sled pulling, dyno, and off-road environments. Randy’s personal truck, Red Delicious,

became a testing platform used to validate the strongest transmission components available;

and to expose the weaknesses that needed to be engineered out.

This real-world testing didn’t just refine Randy’s own builds, it also gave direct, tangible

feedback to transmission part manufacturers on how to improve designs for strength, and long-

term use in high-load/high torque applications.

As the business continued to grow, Randy and his team pioneered a nationwide dealer and

installer network, enabling shops across the United States and Canada to offer Randy’s

Transmissions with local support and faster turnaround times. This model helped working truck

owners; especially those who rely on their vehicles for their livelihood minimize downtime and

maintain reliability.

Through this era, the company’s reputation expanded well beyond the United States. Randy’s

began shipping units worldwide, including to Australia, the United Kingdom, Iceland,

Germany, Africa, and more, supporting both performance parts and built transmissions.

In 2018, the company moved into a larger facility in Tooele, Utah to support higher production

and the increased demand. Randy’s was turning into the destination for performance

transmissions, parts, and converters.

In 2022, torque converter manufacturing was brought in-house, and by 2024, converter

manufacturing expanded into its own dedicated building to support national demand and

volume; as well as the rapidly expanding parts division.Leadership Expansion:

Recently, Randy approached industry veteran Frank Kuperman Jr. to join the company as

part of its long-term growth and product development strategy. After working closely together

on cooling system innovation and engineering collaboration, both saw the value in aligning

their operations and experience.

Frank brings more than 26 years of experience in the automatic transmission and performance

aftermarket. Throughout his career, he served as CEO of TransGo, Transmission Specialties,

RevMax, and lastly- President of Race Winning Brands- leading product development,

manufacturing direction, and platform-specific upgrade programs.

Frank is best known for bringing several widely adopted upgrades to the diesel transmission

market, including:

- The billet channel plate for the 68RFE, now regarded as a standard reliability and

performance fix.

- The high-performance input clutch drums for the 68RFE, designed to increase clutch

capacity and correct OEM design limitations.

Frank is also the owner of Fluidyne High Performance, a brand long recognized across

professional motorsports, including NASCAR; for advanced cooling system technology. In late

2024, Randy’s Transmissions and Fluidyne co-developed a new line of high-capacity, high-

efficiency transmission coolers designed specifically for diesel pickup use.

New Headquarters & National Expansion

To support the combined growth of Randy’s Transmissions and Fluidyne, the company has

acquired a new 40,000 sq. ft. headquarters in West Valley City, Utah.

This location will:

- Bring transmission and torque converter manufacturing back under one roof

- Increase production capacity

- Support expanded engineering and product development

- Serve as the West Coast distribution hub for Fluidyne cooling products

Additionally, a second 20,000 sq ft manufacturing and distribution facility has been secured in

Charlotte, North Carolina, set to open January 5, 2026 which will:

- Support transmission and valve body production

- Expand fulfillment capabilities for both companies

- Increase national parts availability

- Support warranty and refresh programs for faster turnaround

With both facilities working together, Randy’s and Fluidyne will be able to provide two-day

shipping coverage to most regions of the United States.Upcoming Product Releases
