HMS Motorsport Announces Transition to an Employee-Owned Company
December 12, 2025, Mooresville, NC / Danvers, MA — HMS Motorsport, the leading provider of motorsports safety products—representing core brands such as SCHROTH Racing, SCHUBERTH Performance, Cobra Seats, Racecom, Walero, and Race Sense Tire Gauges—today announced its transition to an employee-owned company. This milestone marks a significant step in the organization’s continued growth and its long-term mission to make motorsports safer.
With the establishment of the HMS Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), founder and motorsport safety pioneer, Joe Marko, has formally transferred his ownership into a trust for the benefit of the company’s employees, ensuring that the company’s future will be guided by the people who know it best. Every employee will have a direct stake in the company’s success, increased engagement, creativity, shared purpose, and profits.
“Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter,” said Joe Marko, founder of HMS Motorsport. “Our employees have always been at the heart of our business. The transition to employee ownership honors their dedication and guarantees that our mission, culture, values, passion, innovation, and integrity remain at the core of everything we do. Our vendors, dealers, and customers can expect the same exceptional service and technical expertise—now backed by a team, more motivated than ever, to deliver high-performance results. “
The company’s experienced management team will be led by President Austin Langenstein, CFO Jeff Paulk, General Manager Brian Hale, Director of Marketing Cody McLean, and Director of Purchasing Zach Schucker. The Board of Directors, including Billy Glavin, Jason Phillips, and Jim Zilisch, will oversee strategic direction, financial stability, and uphold commitments to safety, innovation, and customer service.
“We are proud to put our future in the hands of the people who helped build this company,” added Austin Langenstein. “Becoming an employee-owned company not only secures our long-term stability, but also preserves the continuity of trusted relationships, strengthens our ability to educate, innovate, make motorsports safer, and allows us to carry on Joe’s legacy.”
